taiga aisaka Archive

Photoshoot: Taiga Aisaka

I decided to do a photoshoot of my Taiga Aisaka figures. Since I have higher a quality camera at the moment.I had set up an area and gathered all four. Mostly it was an experiment, Taiga makes a good subject. Being one of my favourite characters, the tsundere Aisaka-san is a figure collection must! Hope you enjoy the lot of 52 photos of them.

The four figures presented are:

Taiga Aisaka 1/8 by Max Factory & Taiga Aisaka 1/8 by Chara-Ani

Taiga Aisaka swimsuit ver. by Kotobukiya x Dengeki Exclusive & Taiga Aisaka miss contest ver. by Wave

Photoshoot:

Oh, in other news; Fate Testarossa Nendoroid GET!

Tomorrow I will take her out of the box and takes some pics. Now Nanoha won’t be alone anymore!

GK and PVC Comparison Of Aisaka Taiga Last Episode ver.

I love you Kotobukiya, I am a fan of your figures for the most part. Which is why it comes to my surprise Koto made such a simple mistake with this one, it cannot be left alone. For some reason 2010 seems to have a lot of Taiga figures being released, why? I’m not sure. Only now us fans can have our Toradora figures? Anyway, onto the PVC vs GK post. Kotobukiya has made a PVC based off of a GK by “Gouhondou” ( 剛本堂 ), sculptor Yokoshima Shinpei. The PVC figure by Kotobukiya will be released in October 2010.

I’ll start with positive, this figure is 1/6 scale, 250mm tall, means she’s the largest PVC figure of Aisaka Taiga to date. She’s only 7140 yen! Quite cheap for a 1/6 and any PVC nowadays, and you can get her cheaper at ami ami and hobbysearch, etc, with their promotions. I very much appreciate Kotobukiya’s idea and I’m not bitterly complaining/bashing them. Just slightly disappointed…

GK

PVC

First thing you should notice without even looking at the GK, why are her shoes blue and her uniform is black?

Image curteousy of Neko Magic. If you look here, her shoes are brown. While I understand why Koto decided to make it dark her uniform, why the blue shoes? Another image from the anime here. Her uniform is dark navy, though no visible shoes. Still for that, the GK may be inaccurate for the lighter blue, but at least it looks consistant.

If you look at them side by side, Kotobukiya’s head looks slightly bigger. Making the proportions look way off.

Images from 2ch.

However it isn’t all that bad, maybe some more shots of her would help clarify, and from certain angles, she doesn’t look all too bad. They did the sculpting of the body just fine it looks. Just a fumble with the head/face and paint job.

Custom figma by Bronze CIRCUS

Came across Bronze CIRCUS‘s website, seems they have done some impressive custom figma. A few Umineko ones and a Taiga one have caught my attention. To be able to create your own jointed figure, you’ll have to have experience in sculpting/casting etc. Certainly 青銅CIRCUS does, the attention to detail and painting are very nice. Max Factory can’t possibly make a figma for every character out there, which is why some people resort to making their own, or modding existing figma.

‘Stakes of Purgatory’ Girls from Umineko

Amazing detailing, and they picked the ‘Stakes of Purgatory’ girls, which have the sexiest outfit. Sometimes the face falls flat when they do custom figma, but this one is great, looks like her in 3D form.

Looks to be Belphegor, Lucifer,  Asmodeus, Satan and Beelzebub.

See more photos here at figurephoto.

Toradora Aisaka Taiga

This one is obviously a little older, but still quite impressive. Added joints even in the hair!

Red joints work best for her uniform. You can buy these at HLJ I saw.

Every figure, especially a figma, starts out in pieces.

I really love her hair, while some photos aren’t flattering on the figure, it’s really amazingly done. I also like they did her wooden katana, a few more facial expressions and she’d be perfect.

Beautiful sculpt on the hair! See more construction here.

Now if only Max Factory would go and make a Taiga figma, I’d be so happy. Though from the looks of it, maybe not.

Loot Update

A little update on some purchases I made, while a lot are left on my wishlist for now. First off the mailman came by today with a sweet package. Most adorable Nendoroid, Azusa Nakano! From Good Smile Company She makes my second Nendoroid to date, must say I feel she’s better quality than Nanoha. I got her from Otacute, took them a bit of time to have her in stock, but I finally got her.

Nendoroid 104 Nakano Azusa, is the youngest member of  Hokago Tea Time. She plays guitar, and since she appeared had taken away teasing from Mio. Often they will put nekomimi (cat ears) on Azusa, is where she gets her nickname; Azu-nyan. On to the Nendoroid, it’s pretty straight forward and comes with many accessories.

Her guitar, amp and strap.2 pairs of arms, 1 bent leg. Two facial expressions, a cat. Of course her nekomimi band and stand.

GSC did a really good job on the sculpt and paint job. You can move her twintails too easily. Exchanging the arms and faces are easy, though I haven’t quite figured out the leg yet, can never remove the whole leg, don’t want to break it.

I hope to get them all soon, for now I got my favourite Azusa. She’s totally adorable, makes you feel like going “Nyaaaan~”.

Azu-nyan and my cat, hehe, too bad the real cat is had to photograph at the right moment!

On-Order

Next up are my orders, while it’s not many as I wish, there are some quality items. First off, I ordered something I haven’t gotten in a while, I used to have a subscription. Megami vol.123 I ordered, along with Dengeki G’s August 2010, which comes with Tenshi/Kanade Petit Nendoroid. Both of those should be arriving soon, HLJ is doing some inventory, so orders are being processed slowly.

Megami hasn’t caught my attention for a while, but volume 123 did. Quite a few posters I can put up in my room for once, particularly the Black Rock Shooter one. Kanade and Yuri make for good friends, too bad they didn’t have enough time to let their friendship grow. Two posters I really wish to own, though there are some others that are nice. There’s a cute Feito-chan one and a cool HOTD poster aswell. See more here on moe.imouto.org.

Moving onto more Angel Beats! goodies. GSC Nendoroid Petit set 01, as I previously posted here. These are quite inexpensive, and their smaller than the standard nendoroid of course. Since I enjoyed the series so much, I decided to order them. Two sets are already decided, but only the first set is out on preorder. You can see my whole blog post on these sweeties.

Black Rock Shooter and Luka figma, while they were ordered at different times. BRS is coming out soon, and I can’t wait to have her, she really looks amazing quality, especially for a figma. I ordered Luka because I missed out on Miku’s first release, and she’s hard to get now. But I will order her soon, so Luka won’t be alone. BRS is a simple must get, I got GSC’s original version, big fan of her design.

Lastly, my most expensive order, but a must-have for me. Aisaka Taiga China Dress ver. by Wave, Dengeki Hobby exclusive.

I’m aware of my Taiga obsession when it comes to figure collecting, but I have standards. Only get the ones I think look good, and this one looks to be the first anime art based figure to date. Of course, exclusive! That word can anger any figure collector… I gave in and ordered the last one from Nihonju, I got my Shantiti and Ne-jyu from them… So I can trust them to order another exclusive. While I had to pay the complete price + shipping on the spot… I hope she is worth it! She certainly looks it.

Aisaka Taiga Swimsuit Ver. 1/10 Wave

Wave is going to release Aisaka Taiga Swimsuit ver. in October 2010. She’s part of the Beach Queens line so she’s 1/10, 16cm high. It looks like she has some exchangeable parts, such as her hair, you can have it loose or tied near the end (which I think is cute). Her arms also can be displayed on her hips or holding her inflatable ring. Typical price she is for a Beach Queens figurine, ¥3800.

Dengeki Special ver. (電撃スペシャル ver.) (Reservations start on May 25, end July 25), features an exchangable head with her odango hair style, super cute.

I really love this figure, but I would have to get more than 1 to take advantage of displaying it. Because I can then display both possible poses of Taiga. She is also small, so I should be able to fit her in just fine. It looks like Wave is getting better and better at these 1/10 swimsuit figures. I’m not sure if I want the special ver. I already have a swimsuit figure of her with her odango… For now, I’m definitely going to add her to my collection of Taiga.
