Max Factory: Asuka Langley figma & Ritsu Tainaka Figure

Max Factory has two releases up for preorder today. Yesterday the figma blog updated with some teasers of both Asuka Langley Shikinami Test Plugsuit ver.  figma and Ritsu 1/7 PVC figure. They are going to be released in December. First I’m going to look at the Asuka figma from Evangelion Shin Gekijouban (Movie 2.0). Second is Ritsu Tainaka 1/7 PVC figure from K-ON!.

This is Asuka wearing the Test Plug Suit, seen at the last part of the movie. I kinda wish Max Factory would of made her standard plug suit. Since I think the Test Plug suit looks weird on the back. However the figma looks incredibly well done, and I love Asuka. She is painted made from ABS & PVC material. A posable action figure, not to scale, stand and cockpit are included, approximately 145mm in height. She comes with three expressions: a smiling face, a shouting face and the embarrassed face she gave when she first wore the test plugsuit.  Figma Asuka Langley Shikinami Test Plug suit ver. will be released in late December 2010, costing 3,200 yen.

She also comes with the hand puppet she uses as seen in the movie. The neck has an all new figma joint that features a double joint, allowing for more movement than before. The main body of the figma is made with a combination of hard and soft plastics, making it feel how the test plug suit should be. For any Asuka or Evangelion fan, this figma is a must! Her face and sculpt looks outstanding, I love her embarrassed face. When I first saw the teasers of this Asuka figma, she had a cockpit. Which I thought is a great touch, and a wonderful accessory to include. Would look great on display for sure.

Ritsu Tainaka from K-ON! receives a 1/7 scaled figure from Max Factory, just after Mio. She’s got a jersey over her school uniform, and her bag with drum sticks. Ritsu is very energetic and drummer-like, always upbeat, but often has trouble remembering important club activities and announcements being the president of the Light Music Club. To be released in December 2010, costing 6,800 yen. She’s a 1/7 scale figure about 210mm in height. Her pose is carefree, showing Ritsu’s confident and bold personality. She’s truly a unique character, and the price isn’t bad at all for a 1/7 figure.

I just love the paint job Max Factory did, the detailing on her jersey is just great! However I wish she was smiling, her expression is a bit weird. I don’t think she’ll sell all that well, it is kinda a boring figure, and she happens to be the least popular band member. I’m sure many people are waiting for the other Ritsu figure with the drum kit. Still, I think the figure here is cute, and if you like Ritsu, it’s a good figure for you.

I decided to do a photoshoot of my Taiga Aisaka figures. Since I have higher a quality camera at the moment.I had set up an area and gathered all four. Mostly it was an experiment, Taiga makes a good subject. Being one of my favourite characters, the tsundere Aisaka-san is a figure collection must! Hope you enjoy the lot of 52 photos of them.

The four figures presented are:

figma Suzumiya Haruhi Middle School ver.

Max Factory is releasing figma Suzumiya Haruhi Middle School ver. in September. This cute junior version of Haruhi was first seen in winter WonderFest. She comes with the paint cart for drawing white lines, that was seen in the episode “Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody”. And a bench that was often seen aswell in the series, can be used for all figma. Sporting two expressions, an irritated face and a sceptical face are included. Costing 2800 yen, made from ABS & PVC. She stands approximately 135mm in height.

By far I think the greatest news, is it looks like she’s not exclusive. Certainly a very cute version of Haruhi, the facial expressions are perfect. The addition of the bench is great aswell, can see many possibilities with it. I’d say she’s an instant get, if only manufacturers would have some mercy! So many good figures coming out this fall… But I don’t want to miss out on this Haruhi, she looks adorable.

Evangelion’s figma Mari Reservation Start & Asuka Preview

Max Factory is releasing a Figma of Mari Illustrious Makinami New Plugsuit ver. (まきなみ・まり・いらすとりあす しんがたぷらぐすーつばーじょん). For those who saw the movie Evangelion 2.0, she’s a new character to the series, though not much was introduced about her yet. I saw in a previous event they showed their upcoming Evangelion Figmas, but I didn’t expect the entry plug to be included aswell, just amazing. She’s going to be released October 2010, costing 3200 yen. Mari is approx 140mm high, and comes with three expressions. A smiling face, a grinning face, and even the screaming face she put on while in beast mode. “You can recreate various scenes of Mari piloting her suit using the included interior of the entry-plug, which features posable renditions of the seat, control lever and more!” – Sounds to be really cool. Look forward to Mari this fall!

Mari is not my favourite character, but I can’t really say I hate her, she hasn’t been shown much in 2.0. Her beast mode was really cool though, she kicked ass! The Figma looks amazing and well sculpted, you can tell Max Factory was working hard on this one. I love the idea of the entry plug, I would of never guessed they’d include something like that, well worth the 3200 yen price tag.

Little teaser of Souryuu Asuka Langley Figma! I simply love Asuka, I used to be a big Rei fan when I first saw Evangelion, but after some years, I converted to being an Asuka fan. Looking sweet, can’t wait to see more previews and the expressions Max Factory gave her.

Xecty Ein Swimsuit Ver. Figure by Max Factory

Up for reservations right now is Shining Wind’s Xecty Ein Swimsuit Ver. Figure. Max Factory is going to release her November 2010, retail cost of ¥6800. She stands about 245 mm high, 1/7 scale figure.  Sculpted by Nanako and part of the ‘Shining Saga – Bikini Girls’ series line. Xecty Ein is last of the four bikini girls of Shining Wind Max Factory is making.

I wasn’t too crazy about her when I saw the previews. But today she’s starting to grow on me, Xecty looks elegant and simple. I’m not a fan of the Shining Wind series, nor am I a male, so I won’t be ordering her. Bikini figures don’t catch my eye, unless I really like the characters. But she looks beautiful and sexy. I would of preferred they make the swimsuit black, but I understand they tried to keep the same colour as the illustration. I also feel the face lacks a bit of resemblance from Tony’s work… But that’s just me being picky. Max Factory seems to be doing a good job as always! Tony Taka’s works have been turned gracefully into 3D, without losing it’s charm.

I love the little ruffles on her bikini, adds a nice detail. The vase of sand, like the rest is great, not a feet person, so nothing more to say there. She has a great oppai, it’s well sculpted, looks realistic, also some nipple poking through. Loving the ribbons tied, her body shape is a bit flat, but I like how Max Factory made all the characters body shapes unique to the original designs.

Group shot! Looking good together.
