School Days HQ Katsura Kotonoha 1/8 Figure

Adult game School Days HQ is coming out soon in September 24, 2010, already a demo is out. Which is basically the same game as School Days but with a higher resolution and improved animation. With that, two PVC figures of Kotonoha are being released in January. From Kotobukiya and Chara-ani, Y shirt ver. figures. The Standard has pink lingerie, while the limited Chara-ani version has black lingerie and a different expression.

I’m really glad that Kotobukiya is the main manufacturer, as Chara-ani also works with Toys Works. It looks to be the same sculptor as the other Kotonoha Koto released, but I have no solid information on that right now. I actually like the standard version better than Chara-ani’s limited version. The pink lingerie looks more detailed (or it’s just easier to see), and her expression is more interesting.

The limited edition version from Chara-ani has black lingerie with her black stockings, and a different expression. You can order her from Chara-ani’s shop starting August 8th 2010 at o:oo:oo ~ December 31, 23:59:59. I first saw her at Wonder Festival 2010 Summer, at Chara-ani’s booth. Very little shots and info was on her at the time. I had no idea she was a limited version. I just hope that’s the final base, Kotobukiya tends to fail on the final base lately… Simple would be best in this case.

Photoshoot: Taiga Aisaka

I decided to do a photoshoot of my Taiga Aisaka figures. Since I have higher a quality camera at the moment.I had set up an area and gathered all four. Mostly it was an experiment, Taiga makes a good subject. Being one of my favourite characters, the tsundere Aisaka-san is a figure collection must! Hope you enjoy the lot of 52 photos of them.

Chara-Ani Himeji Mizuki and Summon Figure

Chara-Ani is releasing Himeji Mizuki from ‘Baka to Test to Shokanjuu‘ on October 2010. Seems a lot of figures are coming out in October, how unfair is that? This figurine comes with her summon monster from Nii-Ten-Go (2.5). Price is 6,980 yen (both together), the 1/8 Scale figure size is 20cm and the Summoned Monster is 70cm. Personally I love Chara-ani’s works so far, I think they make very good quality figures. The paint job and expression looks very much like Himeji, and the summon is super cute. I won’t preorder her, but looks to be the best Himeji figure out there thus far.

Review: Taiga Aisaka 1/8 Chara-Ani

So here it is, I got my Taiga. Originally released December 2008, she’s a 1/8 scale figure (about 18cm tall) from Chara-Ani. I know some people might think just to leave it in the box. But why would I want to do that? Would be a total waste to have her sitting in that box, can’t completely see her details or appreciate it. I couldn’t wait to open the box anyhow, though Taiga looks pissed xD lol. I’ve wanted this one for a while but I was too slow. I didn’t take many photos of her, sorry. The lighting isn’t so good in some too, I tried a different room today, also the sun was very intense.

I think her pose is just about perfect. Really fits in with Taiga’s personality, and her expression. Defintely not dere compared to the swimsuit one, hehe. She looks really dangerous. I’m really pleased at the sculpt, her uniform has quite a few details, and it’s not lumpy, and coloured just right. Knee socks are looking great too! hawt.

And yes, it is still flat! But don’t tell her that. I’m very much impressed with her hair aswell, it’s very flowy and makes the figure that much more dramatic. Her stare is also a bit chilling, but the eyes and expression are very true to the original character design.

Yes she’s castoffable, just the bottom part of course. Could tell from the plastic in that area when I was taking her out. Been opening enough figures to learn that… So sad. No back shot for you today, I got lazy. But this figure is just awesome, I give it a 10/10. There are some faults on her, but being mass-produced, can imagine some defects. As a Taiga fan, fantastic figure from chara-ani!
