GSC Black Rock Shooter Nendoroid Petit Preview

Mikatan‘s blog shows some nice previews of the upcoming Black Rock Shooter Nendoroid Petit set which is bundled with the first press limited edition DVD/Blu-ray. Showing the characters Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master. Mikatan also explains the extras in the DVD and Blu-ray releases of B ★ RS. DVD and Blu-ray limited edition extras include;  Illustrations of Huke & Matsuo Yuusuke (character designer) Nendoroid Petit Storyboard of B ★ RS and Dead Master. Regular editions of the DVD and Blu-ray include a booklet of colour illustrations by Huke & Matsuo Yuusuke (36 pages). Along with a video trailer of B ★ RS short stop-motion video (30 seconds long) and the making-of the stop motion video (13 mins long).

GSC’s Black Rock Shooter Nendoroid Preview

Here she is, fellow BRS fans rejoice. The release date is still unknown, however, we can expect preorders to open up soon. While I love BRS, and own GSC 1/8 PVC figure already, I won’t be getting this one. Before I explain my own opinion and very few will agree with me…. Let’s talk about this Nendoroid in general!

The good news is she comes with a lot of accessories and parts. I’m also loving the stand they gave her, similar to the figma line. Wish they would of done that for Nanoha… She comes with both her cannon and black blade, which is great. The flaming eye of course, and the flame eye is removable. A special ChanxCO face also included, looks very cute. A yelling face, for the moment she’s ready to charge unto her enemy! Some extra hands and sleeves. Checker board base (typical BRS style) Pair of sitting legs, and one bent knee leg.

Now why am I not excited about this? For one in these previews I still don’t like how she looks.  BRS looks chubby, a Nendo doesn’t look so nice with their stomach’s exposed I guess. Her eyes don’t look as good as how they did it for their completed figure. The flame eye looks very cheap, it’s not even transparent. I’m sure she will sell like crazy, but for the price of Nendoroids now, it’s not worth it for me.

I’m saving my money for the figma version. It looks much better in my opinion, you can even see her nasty leg joint in the nendoroid version. Looks very unflattering. I prefer normal proportions for action based characters, only school based anime or moe type look good in Nendo. Such as K-ON. Now hurry up Max Factory! I want that preorder of  BRS figma already!

BRS Final Look Before Release

GSC Mikatan’s blog, shows the staff happily holding the glorious Black ★ Rock Shooter Figure Box. I would think most people who collect anime figures and the like are very familiar with BRS. For those who don’t know, she’s a character illustrated by huke, who then later had a music video produced by supercell with huke’s drawings. With the popularity of BRS now, probably from the figurine and because it’s affiliation with Vocaloid. The theme song made by supercell used the vocals of Miku Hatsune from Vocaloid. BRS figure is a 1/8 scale completed model, stands 290mm high. Sculpted by Akeji and manufactured by Good Smile Company. The price-tag is 9800 yen, which is reasonable from her quality stand point. Greatest news of all, they mention again her release on monday worldwide, the 21st. I’m so glad about this. They apologize for the long wait, but now I’m not annoyed anymore, she looks great still.

Already saw her box previously, but now a better quality shot. It’s a big box, but look at her canon, and the hair, needs room for those. I can expect some nice shipping charges next week, but she’s worth it.

I really love the star on the back of her jacket. I can see some wear/damage detailing on the canon, nice touch.

Have to say, the scars look fake here… I hope it’s the lighting, but I think it’s too red. Doesn’t look cool like the previous shots.

More preview shots of BRS Blade Ver.

GA Graphic publishes more preview shots of the lovely Goodsmile‘s  Black ★ Rock Shooter Blade ver. on their site. Not many new shots, but still another look. As we are all awaiting the original canon version of BRS, I was glad to see more of the Blade version. I’m not sure when they plan on releasing this one, as not much has been said about her at all. At first I didn’t like this version, but now looking at from different shots I’ve seen these past months, it’s grown on me. Plus I’d think she would look lovely next to my other BRS figure coming soon. Waaaahhh, can’t wait!

Also from huke’s blog, I noticed something really cool. Stick posters of BRS! Though I can’t find them anywhere yet to buy, I just love huke’s style. Would be great to put the posters behind the BRS figure, for display purposes. Huke really does have an interesting style of drawing, it’s different, dark, but not too dark.

Project DIVA Straps from Hobby Stock + preview of BRS box!

Hobby Stock, has started accepting orders for Project DIVA Track 01 trading straps box. All Vocaloid fans will surely want these, as they depict from a few of the special costumes in the game. Each box has 10 phone straps, with 2 secret ones.  They will be released February 2nd, 2010.  Each strap is 4cm x 5.5cm, made of PVC material. Their official site for Hobby Stock’s Project Diva will only be open on 24th of November at noon.
