Alter Releases: Saten Ruiko, Kinoshita Hideyoshi, Yuri Lowell

Alter has a triple release today, following the WF2010 Summer showcase. Saten, Hideyoshi and Yuri Lowell have preorders open. Ruiko is from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, one can wonder why she’s first before Kuroko Shirai. Kinoshita Hideyoshi is from Baka to Test to Shokanju, the famous trap of the series. Yuri Lowell is from Tales of Vesperia.

When I first saw her in shots from Wonfes Summer 2010, I thought her grin was really strange. But seeing these official shots, it looks a bit better. Though I think the price tag of 7140 yen is really high for her. However you can get her with promotions on certain shops they have going right now. I love Saten, she’s got a great personality, and she’s the only one at Level 0 in the group. The sculpt and paint job look amazing, much expected from Alter.

Hideyoshi already has a few figures, and is proven a popular trap. He is often mistaken as a girl with his feminine appearance. Object of many cosplays and cross-dressing alike, now Alter makes their PVC figure version. He looks good, I love the paint work and the face is perfect. He also comes with his summon character, now I wonder which character Alter will do next!

Yuri Lowell is the main character of Tales of Vesperia, the tenth major release in the Tales Series. A young man from the imperial capital, Zaphias. Yuri comes across as sarcastic and cynical, possibly due to the way the nobility treated the people of the Lower Quarter. Alter has done yet another amazing job, the details on this one is outstanding! Great pose and base, it’s not plain like the two, very neat. The price is very reasonable aswell. Alter has also included a deformed version of him, very cute.

Souryuu Asuka Langley Plug Suit Test Type Ver.

Just what I’ve been waiting for, an amazing figure of Asuka in her Test Type Plug Suit. Alter is going to release this lovely 1/8 scaled figure on October 2010. Gives me enough time to save up for her, though I expect some delay from Alter, who knows? Truly is the best sculpted and painted Asuka Figurine I’ve seen in a long time. Her price is pretty decent at ¥7800… I’m wondering if there will be a Rei one too, but I think there’s enough Rei figures out there, I really prefer the tsundere Asuka.

I’m loving the pose immensily, it truly captivates Asuka’s personality. It shows she’s confident, sexy and cute. Yes Asuka is cute! She has a ‘dere’ side, and this figure shows it! I can’t wait to see how this one turns out, going to be a good seller, a lot of people are drooling over this figure as we speak. Alter has done it again! This is a must GET.

Wonder Festival 2010 Winter Coverage

Wonder Festival 2010 Winter coverage is fast coming with photos of upcoming figure releases. I’m going to focus on some I’m really interested in, like this one. Love Is War Miku Hatsune from GoodSmile company, no release date or price yet. But it was displayed along with the other vocaloid figures they’re releasing this year. Seems GSC is producing figures based off popular Vocaloid PV’s. I much like how this one is turning out, it looks very dynamic and can’t wait to see a painted version of this, it may make or break the deal for me. Just hoping the price won’t be too high… We shall see.

Bakemonogatari

Hitagi Senjougahara by Kotobukiya, looks sweet and simple, finally some figures of Senjougahara-san.

Nadeko Sengoku by Movic, looks to be a nice prototype for Nadeko, too bad it’s Movic.

Hitagi Senjougahara by Movic, looks too simple and not interesting, not my taste.

Hitagi Senjoughara action figure from Figutto! Certainly has a lot of accessories, brings competition to Figma now.

Impressive looking prototype of Hitagi by GoodSmile Company. Fans should recognize the pose from a certain illustration, I must say I do want this one for sure, it looks amazing so far. Also to the right, Figma of Hitagi upcoming from Max Factory, interested to see how she’ll look too.

Bakemonogatari Puchi Petit Nendoroid lineup, we now see painted versions of the next set. Featuring Kanbaru Suruga, Hachikuji Mayoi and Sengoku Nadeko.

The last set of three featuring Koyomi’s sisters and Shinobu.

Black Rock Shooter

Black Rock Shooter Figma from Max Factory, knew it would happen eventually, looks great.

Dead Master Figma from Max Factory, from far doesn’t look like an action figure, love her even more than BRS in this case.

Black Rock Shooter anime ver. by GoodSmile Company. Now we see it painted, looking very good, but not feeling the epic-ness like with the other BRS figure. Will wait for more shots later on.

Dead Master by GoodSmile Company. Oooohh, I really love Dead Master’s design, the figure looks so instant get already, what shall I do?

Nendoroid Black Rock Shooter, also Dead Master is announced for upcoming Nendoroid. Not crazy about Nendoroids, don’t think BRS fits for this type of figure. But that’s my opinion.

K-ON!

Ritsu and Azusa figma from Max Factory. Hope to get a hold of these, Ritsu’s drums look great and Azusa is just plain cute and perfect twin tails!

Azusa Nakano from Alter. I really hope to have a chance to order her, her pose is adorable, and it’s my favourite character from the series.

Mio from Alter, this is the School Festival version. I was thinking of getting the other Alter Mio figure, but now I see this one, I’m really not sure anymore. While I’m not a big fan of Mio, I still like her, just wasn’t sure which figure to get of her. There’s so many!

Azusa Nakano from Megahouse Hobby Japan Exclusive. Certainly is a charming figure…. but alas an exclusive, not so sure if I want to tack on the extra bit of money for that.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Fate Testarossa by Alter from Nanoha Movie 1st. Loli version of Fate should sell like crazy, but the still awaiting for the painted product.

Railgun/Index

Misaka Mikoto by GoodSmile Company. After preordering Index, glad to see I didn’t get Koto’s Misaka, because this is the Misaka figure I’ve been looking for.

End Of November Loot

Not a big loot, but I’ll consider I got a lot these past two months. It’s about hitting a snag right now, since my trip during christmas put a nice dent in my expenses. But that’s something offline, much more important than plastic figures or anime, sugoi desu ne? Maybe I’m getting ill, or growing up, haha. Anyhow, onto my little loot session. I was going to review just Louise on her own, but I wanted to post about Kannagi xmas trading figures too. Together they shall be!

[Alter] Louise Bustier Ver.

Alter gives us this wonderful 1/8 scale version of sexy Louise from Zero no Tsukaima. One of my most wanted figures for a long time, ever since I started collecting these things. I don’t normally go for Alter, I know quite a few people do. I find their paint colours to be pretty dull, I’m more of a fan of Goodsmile, all their figures seem to have more “soul” to them. But Alter has superior sculpts… This Louise is definitely no exception. Based off her infamous outfit from the TV series, where she’s put on a maid outfit in front of Saito, was too cute and moe~ Anyhow, she’s holding her wand too, is kinda odd, would of preferred her holding a tray with some beverages. “Hai, goshujinsama!” Wait no, so not Louise’s character, she sucks at serving customers! I suppose the wand fits better then. Her expression is nice too, with a little blush. The eyes are perfect, much her original design. The details of the hair are just excellent, one of my favourite parts. I like that hairdo of hers, looks super cute. The frills and stocking are very sexy, and just has the right amount of shine to it. A very high quality figure, if you’re a Louise fan, you should definitely get her.

Flat chest is flat :D Don’t tell her though, she will get pissed. Louise being a tsundere, this shows her dere side more. I like the facial expression because she’s not aggressive looking, compliments the outfit just perfect. Glad Alter decided that facial expression, not like the one on the swimsuit from Wave, scary~

Best part of the figure has to be the pantsu! lol, joke. But it is one of the best parts, it’s not plain. But a sweet pink pantsu with some frilly details. Sorry guys, but she’s not cast-offable, you’ll just have to admire the pantsu from a certain perverted angle. Overall, I give this figure a 10/10, because it’s got everything I expected, and a great figure of Louise. Tsu-tsu-tsundere attack!

[Banpresto] Kannagi Xmas Trading Figures

I got these from Play-Asia, I know there’s also a Tsugumi one. But I don’t care for her, they’re already $20 each, for a trading figure seems pricey to me, so I’ll stick with Nagi and Zange, my favs. Not much to say about these, christmas comes early for me. Nothing like cute anime girls in sexy santa clothes. I love Zange’s striped socks, but then I like Nagi’s facial expression better. I find the sculpting of Nagi’s face much better than Zange’s. While Zange’s body is super hot looking, Nagi’s is well… like a child’s, lol. They’re both very nice, and for trading figures, very good quality. Do get banpresto, didn’t find any flaws on them, and the paint job is vibrant, not too shiny. Hm, far too many exclaimation marks in this post, and my face hasn’t even changed expression the slightest bit. Wonderful things of the internet indeed.
