To Aru Majutsu no Index the second season will be airing in October. Dengeki sits down with Satou and Iguchi for a discussion on their thoughts of To Aru Majutsu no Index II. They are the wonderful voice actresses who voice Misaka Mikoto and Index. Based on a Japanese light novel series written by Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by Kiyotaka Haimura; the series is published by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. Touma Kamijo whose right hand, the Imagine Breaker, has the ability to negate all magic and psychic powers, but also brings him misfortune. Touma upon meeting a hungry nun, Index, who’s mind has been implanted with Index Librorum Prohibitorum—103,000 forbidden magical books. His encounter with her leads him to meet others from the secret world of science and magic and an adventure.
This time Iguchi is the main heroine in the story, who plays Index. Before Satou was the main lead in the spin-off series; To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, playing Misaka Mikoto. Now two people present their thoughts and mind about the characters, to listen and discuss. In addition, the two of them autograph a book.
In the recording of the second season, please tell what is your thoughts.
Iguchi says: Counting from the audition, it has already been 3 years now. Standing in front of the microphone for a long time, giving the voice of Index, hearing the other cast is strange. I deliver the voice of Index without too much thought.
Satou says: I’m “Railgun” in Index, so the feeling of show is different. Mikoto of (Railgun) and (Index) slightly differ, the 2nd season of Index feels different. I also have “My younger sisters (Sisters)” . They cause her anxiety, and whether she can use her “Railgun” as efficient as the ones built in the Laboratory. I think it’ll be such a great atmosphere at a record site, so it’s a pleasure to record.
Question for Satou-san: What do you think of “DERE, Misaka” in the 2nd season? How is it performed, is there a plan?
Satou says: Well…… It is leaving to a matter of chance! When words are not being said, and you don’t see the actual picture, it seems unstable on how to perform. Personally, I don’t want an advancement in Touma’s and Misaka’s relationship so much. That remains a frustrating relationship like that, right? But I think it’s good when Misaka’s infinite power can be taken out.
Satou-san is saying that it’s without preplanning. But how do you think Iguchi-san will perform Index, who yearns for Touma?
Iguchi says: Comparing them may be slightly different, but Touma and Index seem to see eachother as my master and pet. However a very important person, who’s gentle towards other people. The former Index seemed to say touched by Touma “That person who is that person? Who is that person?”. In the second season many other girls who meet Touma might say “love…?”. How you say Index is performed, well it is without preplanning and by chance! (smile) But Touma is very popular!
What do you think of Touma?
Iguchi says: “He’s kind, too kind! If I’m near… is… troublesome?” (everyone laughs). “What, this man?!” “I might think and possibly come to love”. She turns around to laugh.
And how about you Satou-san?
Satou says: Difficult (everyone laughs). Reading the original work he thinks too of Mikoto’s feelings; “Why such a thing has happened here?”. And to think, “If I grow up, what will become?”. He is a very worrisome person.
Iguchi says: It is a crime to be too kind!
Satou says: A crime!
Is it a crime? By the way, are there any other characters who are worrisome like Touma?
Iguchi says: I guess it’s Stiyl. Although something is held wholly, respectively. He doesn’t mind sacrificing something in order to protect under such circumstances.
Satou says: I say Accelerator. You like him when the little human feeling comes out as the “proud isolated level 5″ which appears first, right? It is cute…. However Misaka nearly got killed (laughs).
Any message to a fan waiting for the second season to broadcast?
Iguchi says: Railgun was made, and with the support from everyone it has been 2 years, now I deliver the second season. I have that and thinking, I really thank you very much. It’s pleasant that I myself can meet Touma, Misaka and Index again. I’ll work hard during post recordings, in order to keep up with everyone’s expectations. Please look forward to it! Thank you!
Satou says: I think what is obtained from ‘Railgun’ compared to putting out the second season of ‘Index’. Such collaboration (smiles) Since it is a series with very many characters, I’m very excited to record with the new characters. Not reading the original novel already brings about preparation upon anazlying. Also, the OVA of Railgun comes out. I’d be glad if you see it too. Please it would make me happy, thank you.

Just recieved her today, bought this exclusive lovely from Mandarake. Manufactured from MegaHouse’s Brilliant Stage line, she’s a Hobby Japan exclusive. Released in July, retail price of 7,140 yen. I got her for 7,000 yen, safe to say I waited the right time. If anyone knows me, Azusa is my favourite K-ON! character. It was a must get since Mandarake had lowered her price. I like Alter’s too, except for their pose, I was a bit disappointed by that. Although Alter’s version clearly has the better face, this one has a nice pose.
Opening the box, it’s easy to put her on the stand. Looking at her, I’m wondering if she’ll suffer from a leaning figure problem in the future. Because all her weight is put onto the one leg… But I love her lively ready to play pose. I also noticed they painted nail polish on her fingers, I know Azunyan never wears colour on her nails. Must of been some weird paint idea they had for display reasons.
I just about love her sculpt, to make a uniform figure look interesting can be hard. Though the guitar definitely helps, the guitar is amazingly detailed, even the strings feel like strings! Obviously are just plastic, but they made it soft. Paint job doesn’t seem to have any real noticeable flaws, naturally a few tiny specs here and there, pretty normal. Her fingernails are tad over the line, but can only tell when I took a picture of the hands.
Azunyan comes with her nekomimi just like Alter’s does. The easily fit on her, showing wear her nickname “Azunyan” came from.
The base features the K-ON! logo (Keion!) I like that it’s relatively plain. Her face does cause a bit of a problem, it’s not perfect. If her eyes were a bit bigger (height wise), they’re a very tiny bit too narrow. They kinda made her mouth funny, it looks fine on a 3/4 angle, but not frontal. Though I would say it still does look like Azunyan. I like how her eyes are painted.
The guitar is nicely done as I mentioned before. There’s a glitter paint finish, which shines in the light.
A surprise, bunny ears are included (yes I knew about it before purchase). I guess because cosplays on the K-ON! characters comes easy, and they wanted to include some interesting to combat Alter’s. Along with the cat and bunny ears, you get a guitar tuner to clip on.
Overall I love this figure, she looks much better in person. Somehow the camera brings out the weirdness in her face. For a K-ON! or Azusa fan this is a must get. But don’t buy from overpriced places, I think she’s still available on Mandarake if you wish to own her. I know K-ON! fans are veerrry picky on the figures, almost every one of the releases someone has a problem with something. While I’ll just say this, you can’t expect perfection from 2D to 3D object, there’s bound to be some asumptions. This figure is far from fail, in my opinion. It’s a shame Alter did do this kind of pose, it would of been perfect. But really, Azusa is too cute to pass up on!

Magazine reveals that K-ON! second season will in fact have it’s final episode on September 14th.
The final 2 episodes of K-ON!! (25 and 26) are going to be extra episodes. What they will be of is not known at this moment, but they will make no progress to the plot since 24 is the final episode.
8/31 Episode 22
9/07 Episode 23
9/14 Episode 24 (Final)
9/21 Extra Episode (25)
9/28 Extra Episode (26)
This kind of brings sad news to me, as the series will end plot-wise sooner. But then again K-ON! seems to always be independent episodes, it may not be much different from the norm. Just it won’t show them in college/university already. The manga is ending, so it’s pretty logical for the anime to end aswell. However, I shall just enjoy what’s left of K-ON! and remember those loveable characters.
